Units
In total, the apprenticeship consists of five units:
- Understand the principles and practices of learning and development
- Plan and prepare specific learning and development opportunities
- Develop and prepare resources for learning and development
- Reflect on and improve own practice in learning and development
Learners can then choose one of the following units:
- Facilitate learning and development in groups
- Facilitate learning and development for individuals
Level 3 Preparing to teach in the lifelong learning sector qualification or PGCE
To successfully complete the apprenticeship, learners will be required to complete a workbook covering the theory, practice and principles of learning and development, before moving on to session planning and preparing resources.
Learners will also be observed delivering learning to a group or individual in a work-based setting, as well as be required to assess their own skills and knowledge in learning and development. They will also be expected to prepare a personal development plan for themselves, and keep a reflective journal to identify areas of good practice and improvement.
