Advanced Bicycle Maintenance
Overview
This course provides full practical training and assessment in the areas of assembly, set-up and ongoing servicing and maintenance.
Course content includes:
- Health and safety in the workshop
- Headsets, gears, rim brakes, hubs & bearings
- Disc brakes and hydraulic bleeding
- Internal hub gears
- Wheel truing and spoke replacement
- Wheel building.

Entry Requirements
You will need to have completed a basic Bicycle Maintenance course or have a good understanding of the basics of bicycle mechanics.
Course Delivery
The course will be delivered in our specialised facility on Jubilee Court Campus (Fforestfach, SA5 4HB).
This course can lead to a Cytech Two accreditation. Assessment for Cytech is carried out by an external company (Activate Learning) and would take please at a later date. Please speak to the course tutor if you are interested in this route.
Progression Opportunities
Accreditation to Cytech Two.
