Statement re: incident at College on Thursday 2 May

Late yesterday afternoon (Thursday 2 May) Gower College Swansea received anonymous information.

Due to the nature of this information and our priority of ensuring that we do everything possible to safeguard the health and safety of all our students and staff, we immediately contacted South Wales Police for advice.

On arrival, the Police asked us to evacuate the Tycoch Campus (including Hill House, Sports Centre and Broadway) as a precaution before undertaking a full search of the site.

Nothing suspicious was found and the College has now reopened.

Important information for Tuesday 30 April

The Tycoch Campus (including the Broadway Centre and the Sports Centre) will be open as normal on Tuesday 30 April following our recent water leak.

However, there will be limited access to hot food on offer during the day at the Campus.

We apologise for any inconvenience.

Important information for Monday 29 April

Due to a water leak, our Tycoch, Broadway Centre and Sports Centre sites are closed for today.

Please can staff either find an alternative campus to work from or work from home.

Updates regarding tomorrow (Tuesday 30 April) will be posted here in due course.
