Learning support for higher education students

We can provide specialist support to you throughout your time at College. We are happy to meet the needs of a wide variety of neurodiverse conditions including dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia, ADHD, autism, and developmental language disorder.

We can provide support for all physical disabilities including visual/hearing impairment, mobility issues and serious illness.

You may have already received support at school or in the workplace, and found that it has helped you to achieve. Please let us know about this so we can look to maintain continuity for you.

Not everyone knows what support is best suited to their needs so, if you are unsure, please have a chat with the team to see how we can best help you.

Disabled Students Allowance (DSA)

The DSA is a non-means tested, government funded scheme which students with a disability, including specific learning difficulties, may be eligible.

We can help you to apply for DSA and then arrange for funded support to be put in place.

To apply, you will need to complete form DSA1 and provide evidence of your condition. We can help you with this. We suggest you apply as soon as possible so the support you need can be put in place as it can take time for your application to be approved. This link will support your application for DSA.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

We want to continue to provide the support you need. However, support in higher education is provided through the DSA so, for support to continue, you need to make an application as soon as possible. We can help you with this.

Any exam help, such as extra time or use of a computer, you may have had in school/college will not automatically continue through to higher education. You will need to contact us so we can help you to put this in place according to the requirements of the university your course is affiliated to.
