This is a full time course for students who want experience a wide range of Computing and IT Skills that are widely used in Industry.
Students should have a keen interest in Computing/IT and want to keep up with emerging technologies and understand where they are important to a company’s business model. Successful students can progress from the programme direct into the final year of BSc Computing related degree at UWTSD.
The course covers modules that identifies the skill shortage within IT/Computing, that include: academic and employability skills for HE students, computer architecture and networks, software development, information engineering, data analysis and visualisation, internet technologies and security, routing and switching concepts, application development, database management systems, web technologies, project management and research methods and - for those students who are interested in setting up and running their own business - there is an enterprise / innovation module.
The programme is delivered through lectures, case studies, practical demonstrations and tutorials.

Please note that subjects at A Level, Pearson BTEC (National Diploma/Extended Diploma) or Access to HE should/may include ICT, Computing or similar. However, other relevant qualifications would be considered subject to interview and relevant academic experience.
Mature students who have relevant experience and do not have the formal entry requirements will also be considered and will be subject to interview.
Students are expected to have GCSE Mathematics and English at grade C or higher.

Second year - Level 5
- Advanced Networking
- Enterprise and Innovation Group Project
- Databases and Application Development
- Data Security and Compliance
- Network Operating Systems and Services
- Web and Mobile Technologies.
Assessment
Assessment is done through exams, practical tests and assignments which apply to relevant case studies.
On completion, students can progress to the final year of the BSc(Hons) course in Computing with University of Wales Trinity St David (UWTSD).
Course costs
£9,000* a year. The College is offering a £1,000 bursary towards this for full-time courses.
