Overview
The EAL Level 3 Electrotechnical Experienced Worker qualification is designed for practicing electricians who have significant industry experience but have not previously completed a formal apprenticeship or Level 3 NVQ.
The course provides a structured route to assess and formally recognize existing skills, knowledge and competency in electrical installation.
It is particularly suited to experienced electricians working across domestic, commercial and industrial environments who wish to gain a recognised qualification and progress towards industry accreditation, including eligibility for the ECS Gold Card.
Learners will compile a portfolio of evidence demonstrating competence across a range of installation activities, supported by assessor site visits and professional discussions.
Key information
- A practicing electrician with a minimum of five years’ industry experience
- A recognised Level 2 electrical qualification
- Successful completion of a Skills Scan assessment
Alternative Route:
- Candidates without a Level 2 qualification but with 10+ years’ experience may be eligible via the EWA Entry Test (EXPL3E)
The qualification is delivered through a combination of:
