Engineering Technologies Level 3 – Technical Extended Diploma
Overview
This predominantly mechanical engineering course (equivalent to three A Levels), is an industry recognised qualification which is designed to give you the academic and practical skills required for many modern engineering industries.

Five GCSEs at grade C or above including intermediate Mathematics and Science.

- Environmental engineering
- Welding and machining.
Staying at Gower College Swansea you could choose either the HND in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
This qualification attracts UCAS points that will enable you to progress on to a university degree or degree apprenticeship. Learners completing the course have progressed to Swansea University, Brunel University, Plymouth University, Cardiff University, the University of South Wales and Aberdeen University to study for the B.Eng in Mechanical Engineering and Electrical/Electronic Engineering and other career degrees.
Practical sessions will require the use of PPE and this will need to be purchased prior to the course starting.
You will require – flame retardant overalls, boots, a welding headshield and Gauntlet gloves.
