Sport Level 3 - Extended Diploma 
Overview
This course is ideal for students aiming to enter the sport and active leisure industry. This course supports progression into careers such as sports coaching, sports development, gym instructing, personal training and PE teaching (via further study). You’ll develop key professional qualities including leadership, communication, teamwork and confidence; while exploring how sport can improve health, wellbeing and participation across society. This is an excellent pathway for students who want a course that feels relevant, active and career-focused.

Key information
Five GCSEs at grade C or above including English Language and Mathematics, a single Science (preferably Biology) or Sport/Public Services (Level 2) with a Merit profile.
Staying with GCS, you could progress on to the Foundation Degree in Sports Development and Management.
Common university courses include sport and PE, leisure management studies, sports coaching, sporting development and teaching PE.

Students will undertake additional vocationally relevant qualifications such as First Aid, Sports Leaders UK, AGORED Sport units and NGB awards (for which a small extra fee may apply).
Students on this course will be charged for a DBS check which costs £40.
Students are required to purchase a college T-shirt, polo and hoodie at a cost of £70. Students will have the opportunity to purchase a college tracksuit and sports related kit linked to the sport of their choice.
Minimal costs may be required for local educational visits.
