Acclaimed photographer meets students

Acclaimed photographer / artist Richard Billingham paid a visit to Gower College Swansea this week. The photographer, who first came to prominence with his 1996 book Ray's a Laugh, later won the Citigroup Photography Prize and was shortlisted for the 2001 Turner Prize.

During this visit to the Llwyn y Bryn campus, Richard spent time with students on a variety of art and media related courses.

"The students were really looking forward to meeting Richard and were inspired by his work," says lecturer Elinor Franklin. "After a general talk with the group about his career and the realities of working in the industry, he was also able to meet with individuals and look through their portofolios."
