Acting lecturer appointed to awarding body role

Gower College Swansea lecturer Wyn Richards has joined the UAL Awarding Body's External Developer Register.

Wyn joined the College in 2015 and currently leads the Level 4 Professional Diploma in Performance UAL (Acting Company) course.

He is delighted that he will now have the opportunity, in addition to the day job, to apply his knowledge, skills and experience to help shape qualifications provision now and into the future.

“I’m delighted to join such a dedicated group of developers to explore the realms of creativity and enhance student experience,” says Wyn. “It’s so important to bring industry understanding, assessment expertise and a forward-thinking mind-set to arts education. So I’m really excited to join the bank of external developers overseen by the Qualification Development Team at UAL and look forward to working alongside them.”

UAL design and award creative qualifications that empower and inspire educators to help students reach their potential. It is regulated by Ofqual, CCEA Regulation and Qualifications Wales and currently offers qualifications in art and design, fashion, creative media, music and performing and production arts.

UAL Awarding Body External Developers are individuals who have subject and technical expertise e.g. in assessment or curriculum design and support the work of the Qualifications Development team in developing new qualifications and resources.
