Airport work experience inspires students

Travel and Tourism students from Gower College Swansea recently visited Bristol Airport where they undertook a day’s work experience with Swissport International.

During the visit, the students received an airside and landside tour of the airport which included shadowing airport staff at the check-in and information desk, baggage handling and security. They also gained invaluable information which will help them to pass their City & Guilds qualification in Cabin Crew.

“The day provided the students with an excellent opportunity to see what happens behind the scenes at the airport," says course tutor Beverley Carver. "The experience has encouraged many of the students to pursue a career in the airline industry.”
