Updated 24/08/2015

Gower College Swansea’s Engineering Technology department (Tycoch) has celebrated its most successful Level 3 BTEC cohort to date.

From the graduating class of 2015, seven are heading to top universities around the UK including Swansea, Manchester, Lancashire and Bristol, to study degrees in Chemical, Civil, Mechanical, and Computer Aided Engineering, Architecture and Robotics.

A further 14 students have secured apprenticeships with established companies including Tata Steel, 3M, Quartzelec, Wall Colmonoy, Lyte Ladders and A.I.R Precision.

“I am so proud of these students, speaking both as their personal tutor and as Curriculum Leader for Engineering Technology,” says Coral Planas. “Their hard work and commitment has resulted in successful applications to HE and much sought-after placements within industry. We wish them all well for the future and look forward to continuing our support of those who will return to the Tycoch campus as part of their apprenticeships.”

“I’d also like to thank our lecturing team for their crucial contribution to this success.”
