Chris Brindley MBE delivers leadership and management masterclass at Gower College Swansea

Sketty Hall Business School will, this week (Wednesday 25 May), welcome Chris Brindley MBE to deliver a leadership and management masterclass.

Learners from HND and BA Business Management as well as those studying professional management courses will be attending the masterclass by the former managing director of Metro Bank.

As an experienced keynote speaker, Chris will be discussing Creating a high performance environment in business with staff and with students A high standards approach to personal performance with students. He’ll be using his experience as a leading business figure to cover key takeaways such as the leadership journey, personal and team performance and developing relationships through trust.

“The opportunity to have high profile guest speakers and masterclasses will allow our staff and learners to appreciate and experience leadership and management theory in a real life context,” says Business and Technology Learning Area Manager, Darren Fountain.

“This practical enrichment will allow our staff and learners to witness how strategic direction is set by business and hear how leaders manage themselves and others towards achieving this direction,” he added.

The masterclass is funded by the Welsh Government’s Knowledge Transfer Scheme (KTS) and is a new concept aimed at colleges to fund the delivery of learning activities that are designed to accelerate and build expertise for students and staff.

Gower College Swansea have secured industry leaders from the world of business, creative arts, beauty, digital, catering and tourism to host masterclasses over the next few months.

Darren added: “This grant has allowed us to further engage in our vision for Sketty Hall Business School which is to bring leadership and management into focus. It enables us to enrich our new higher education business management programmes as well as our professional management courses by signposting progression opportunities within the College. In time, this should lead to the development of new pathways of learning at a higher level as well as an improved learner experience.”
