Congratulations to our apprentice stars!

As part of the Apprenticeship Week Wales 2022 celebrations, Gower College Swansea held a virtual Apprenticeship Awards over its Twitter and LinkedIn social media feeds.

This virtual event was designed to highlight the very best of the best apprentices, employers and assessors.

“Yet again, our virtual awards highlighted stories of success and achievement from right across our apprenticeship routes – from areas as diverse as bricklaying, data analytics and facilities management – which are delivered across Wales and England,” says Rachel Searle, Head of Work Based Learning.

“Our apprentices, employers and assessors have had a very challenging two years but they have not allowed this to get in the way of their learning and training journeys. And, even though we were unable to be together in person, we felt it was very important to honour these achievements in the best way we can.

“Celebrating these inspirational success stories is one of the highlights of our year, demonstrating the positive impact apprenticeships have on people’s lives, careers and businesses.”

In addition to the virtual awards, the College’s GCS Training team hosted a range of free online workshops for employees of Swansea Council and the local health board. These sessions covered areas such as digital marketing, advice and guidance and customer service.

The Apprenticeship Programme in Wales is funded by the Welsh Government with support from the European Social Fund.
