Digital Technology students win at EESW!

Updated 01/04/2016

A team of Digital Technology students from Gower College Swansea have performed exceptionally well at the recent Engineering Education Scheme Wales (EESW) finals at Swansea University Bay Campus - winning the 'Best College in Wales' category.

The winning students - Cody Wilks, Sara Vonk, David Osbourne and Kaleb Thomas - worked alongside Tongfang Global (THTF) for several months to develop their prototype ahead of the event.

"As part of this project, they had to present their prototype to the company's MD, who was sufficiently impressed to share their ideas with Head Office in China," says Curriculum Leader Steve Williams. "Not only that, but the company plans to incorporate the students' solutions into practice, which could benefit them by over £600k."

In total, our Digital Technology department put forward two teams at EESW who, between them, had six nominations for awards. What an amazing outcome and a true reflection of the work and commitment of students and staff alike.

A special thank you to Brian Lewis for his continued dedication with these students.
