Focus on well-being for Access students

Access students at Gower College Swansea were invited to an Access conference and Well-being Day at the Gorseinon campus.

With a mixture of talks, Q&A and practical sessions, the event focused on mindfulness, time management, healthy eating and the various support systems in place within the College to help learners during the busy academic year.

“This is the first time we’ve held such an event and the Access team felt it was really important to spend a day focussing on the holistic needs of the learner,” says Curriculum Leader Suzanne Arnold. “We hope this day will help students to remain focused, confident and well during their time at Gower College Swansea.”

Among the guest speakers were Nick Owen, Swansea University’s Senior Lecturer at the Applied Sports Technology Exercise and Medicine Research Centre (A-STEM), Tracey and Jonathan Ridd from the Paul Ridd Foundation and Tracy Williams, Nursing Lecturer at Swansea University, who gave a talk on applying for a place to study nursing.
