Updated 15/06/2022

Staff from Gower College Swansea were recently (Friday 10 June) invited to a special celebratory event at the Swansea.com stadium.

The Long Service Awards have been set up to recognise and thank those members of staff who have worked at the College for more than 20 years.

Lecturers, managers and business support staff from across all areas of the organisation received personalised gifts before enjoying an afternoon tea.

Arrival entertainment was provided by local harpist, Nia Jenkins and a talented group of Level 3 and 4 Performing Arts students sang to officially open the proceedings.

More than 70 staff members were celebrated for completing over 20 years’ service, and recognised for working at the College for over 30 years were Marilyn Jones, Yana Austin, Christine Mawson, Alun Dodd, Amanda Parkes, Sian Bevan, Laura Davies and Fran Burkett.

“We felt it was very important to recognise the dedication and loyalty of those members of staff who have worked so hard for the College for so long,” says Director of HR Sarah King.

“These members of staff have mentored and supported generations of learners and we wanted to give something back to them as a token of our appreciation.”
