Gower College Swansea exam results 2019

Students at Gower College Swansea are celebrating an overall A Level pass rate of 99%, with 1205 separate exam entries.

Of these passes, 35% were at grades A*-A, 61% were at A*-B and 82% were at A*-C.

The overall pass rate at AS Level was 92%, with 67% of those passes being grades A - C and 44% being grades A - B. There were 2447 separate exam entries for AS.

The College’s vocational results are also strong again this year with a 100% pass rate across Level 3 Extended Diplomas. 57% of these students achieved at least one Distinction.

“We are really delighted with the A Level and vocational results again this year,” says Principal Mark Jones. “At A Level, we are particularly pleased to see the higher A*- A grades increase on previous years. For example, 27 students achieved A* grades across the board and 121 achieved straight A* and A grades - which is a fantastic achievement. At AS Level there were also 128 students achieving straight A grades.”

“What is particularly great this year is the progression routes of these young people now they are leaving College. While many are heading to top universities across the UK to begin a higher education course, others have chosen to take apprenticeship or degree apprenticeship routes while others are heading straight into employment. At Gower College Swansea, we are delighted to have helped them on their way to whatever progression pathway they are taking.”

“It’s always rewarding to see hard work paying off and I hope our students can now relax a bit after what can be a stressful time. I must also take this opportunity to acknowledge our fantastic teaching and support staff who have worked with these learners throughout the year.”
