Gower College Swansea sponsors Mumbles Duathlon

Gower College Swansea was the title sponsor again this year for Mumbles Duathlon on 25 March.

Not only did the College sponsor the event but students from its Sports Massage Therapy level 3 and 4 course volunteered at the finished line, easing some very tired muscles. The students volunteer at numerous racing events throughout the year, building up hours of experience for their training.

A couple of Travel and Tourism Level 3 students also volunteered at the event, gaining some valuable experience of events management.

The College was also represented with 12 competitors from Team GCS, who joined over 170 athletes from all over the UK. The competition began at 8am on Saturday morning and the wind was howling which made the bike course especially challenging with some ferocious head and side winds - bike handling and fitness were very well tested.

Despite the tough course, Team GCS safely made it across the line, and without doubt are looking in fine fettle for the rest of the season.
