Interactive workshops with a festive flavour

As a direct result of a two-year European Leonardo funded project entitled ‘Sustainability Through Creativity,’ Gower College Swansea recently organised an exhibition for childcare providers in the local area.

Colleagues from the sector, as well as children from local nurseries and play groups, visited the interactive exhibition which was designed to showcase the work of the project.

The theme of the event was the promotion of the use of recycled materials in childcare settings. Workshops took place around a large Christmas tree and Childcare staff helped the children to make festive decorations made from recycled items.

Partners from the Netherlands, Romania, Italy and Austria were involved in the project and each partner organisation helped to produce a leaflet for Childcare settings on the planning, sourcing and implementing of the use of recycled materials for activities for children.
