International Graduates at Sketty Hall Business School Graduation

International Students Graduation 2023

Graduation is a momentous occasion that marks the results of years of hard work, dedication, and growth. It is a time to celebrate achievements, reflect on the journey, and look forward to new beginnings.

The sun was fortunately shining for our International Students’ Graduation Ceremony at Sketty Hall Business School with plenty of smiles. Graduates were awarded certificates and mementos for their achievements, and they even performed karaoke to end the wonderful event.
As graduates move forward into new adventures, they carry with them the invaluable lessons learned and the connections made at Gower College Swansea. So, let us celebrate this remarkable milestone and wish all graduates a bright and successful future.

Ruth Owen Lewis, Head of International spoke highly of the day, “The International Graduation Ceremony is one of my favourite events of the year. It is such a special event, and a real pleasure to see these ambitious young people graduate after two or three years at the College.

“It is amazing how much the students change during their time with us, their English improves massively, as does their confidence and academic skills – they mature and develop a huge amount and it’s lovely to know that Gower College Swansea played a part in that positive transformation.”

She added, “The students have some amazing offers for some of the best universities in the UK, and we look forward to hearing about their progress and their next adventure.”

Terry Summerfield, International Tutor said “It was honour to speak at this year’s International Student Graduation. This particular cohort at Gower College Swansea have been through a difficult time, having joined the College during the worldwide Covid pandemic and the transition out of it. This for many, meant that they were unable to return home at all throughout their two years with us.”

He added, “This cohort have shown enormous resilience in adapting to a new country and culture and a completely new learning environment. They have to be given enormous credit for this, having done this at a very challenging time.”

The vast majority of the class of 2023 have applied to continue their studies in the UK at a Russell Group university, and I wish them every success when their results come out in August.

They have been a delight to have as my tutees and I wish them every success in the future and hope they stay in touch.”

Congratulations, Class of 2023
