Students thanked for fund-raising efforts

Students at Gower College Swansea have raised an astonishing £11,000 over the past two years – money that has been donated to the Kenya Community Education Project

During each year of their time at College, these students have organised a range of charity events including a walrus dip in the freezing waters of Caswell Bay (in the middle of December), two separate climbs up Mount Snowdon, and a gruelling 40-mile walk through Cannock Chase.

In addition, they took it in turns to manage a stall in the reception of the Gorseinon Campus where they sold refreshments.

“The students have worked really hard to raise as much money as they can for the Madungu Primary School in Western Kenya and their efforts could not be more appreciated by the Magundu community - I am so proud of them all,” says lecturer and KCEP Coordinator, Matthew Rogerson.

The College launched the Kenya Project in 2003. Donations can be made via
