Swans star inspires students with motivational talk

Swansea City footballer Ashley Williams recently surprised students at Gower College Swansea's Gorseinon campus when he dropped in to give a motivational talk.

During a Q&A session with the students, he and Sports lecturer Duane Saunders discussed his life and career, his motivations for reaching the level that he has and his role models. Ashley also spoke about his parents' influence and his desire to succeed to make their life better.

"Ashley spoke about the inspirational individuals, players and coaches who have positively impacted on his development," says Duane. "He told the students - from BTEC and A Level Sport courses - that in order to be successful you have to find the 'why.' Once you have that, you have the drive to achieve anything in life and not simply coast along."
