Theatre students' progression success

Technical Theatre students from Gower College Swansea recently spent the afternoon in workshops with Andy Franks, Production Director at the Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts.

The workshops covered opportunities in the technical theatre industry, communication skills for production meetings, and a very entertaining ‘show cueing’ exercise.

Following the workshop, four of the students were interviewed for places at Mountview – and all were successful!

This now means that all members of the class (who are all aged 18 and over) have secured places at some of the best drama colleges in the country.

“This continues the trend of our Technical Theatre students acquitting themselves extremely well at interview and being offered places,” says Learning Area Manager David Lloyd Jones. “I’m also delighted that - as the recent visits of representatives from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, Arts Educational Schools and now Mountview to the college attest - these highly sought after institutions are actively seeking out our students due to the high calibre of our Performing Arts graduates in previous years.”
