College builds sports links with school

As part of Gower College Swansea's ongoing relationship with Birchgrove Comprehensive School's PE department, Year 11 BTEC pupils visit the Gorseinon campus gym and use the new facilities on a fortnightly basis.

In addition, they are able to pick up advice on the BTEC Level 2 Sport course and possible progression opportunities into college.

"This type of collaboration and use of facilities is vital for us in terms of delivering certain BTEC Sport Level 2 units - we just wouldn't be able to offer some units without it," says Birchgrove PE teacher Craig Bonell. "Also, having a rich source of expert advice at hand has been extremely helpful during certain aspects of the BTEC course."
