Course Overview
This course is designed for bicycle technicians and bicycle dealers.
It will provide you with the skills needed to set up, service and repair a broad range of electric bikes. It covers all the latest technology and allows you to work confidently in a complex workshop environment.
On this Advanced e-Bike Maintenance course, you will learn:
Basic electrical theory, understanding wiring diagrams and multimeter use
Soldering iron use and how best to install electrical connectors
Removal and installation of electrical motors and components
Diagnostic and maintenance procedures for ‘intelligent’ and ‘non-intelligent’ systems
Safe working practices when using batteries and electrical components
Legislation surrounding e-bike use and maintenance
Transmission – chain repair and replacement
Headset adjustment
Wheels – punctures and tyre repair
Emergency repairs – dealing with what can go wrong during a ride
Entry Requirements
No formal entry requirements but you should be working in the industry.
We also offer a basic e-bike maintenance course for those not working in the industry.
Course Delivery
Delivery will be over three days.
This is a non-accredited course. You will receive a Certificate of Attendance from Gower College Swansea.
Progression Opportunities
We also run Cytech One and Cytech Two qualifications.
Additional Information
Bicycles and tools will be provided for the duration of the course.
