- Develop further understanding of child development and child care services in Wales.
Learners will also complete the Level 2 Children’s Care, Play, Learning and Development: Core Qualification alongside this qualification
Elements of this course can be delivered through the medium of Welsh.

Entry Requirements
A suitable Level 1 qualification or two GCSEs at grade C and at least a D in English Language. You must complete a DBS prior to enrolling on the course. Cost is approximately £40.
Course Delivery
A large part of the assessment takes place in your work placement, but you are also required to compile a portfolio of evidence from both placement and college.
Progression Opportunities
Students who successfully complete this course can progress to work in the sector or to the Level 3 CACHE Diploma for Children’s Care, Learning and Development. This can be done as a full time course in college or as part of a work based apprenticeship, which involves working in a childcare setting and attending college for one day a week.
