Overview

The UAL Level 2 Diploma in Music Performance and Production is an engaging one year course designed to introduce students to the exciting world of music. This program provides a solid foundation in music performance and production techniques. 

Throughout the course, students will learn to play musical instruments, develop their vocal skills, and explore the fundamentals of music theory. They will also gain hands-on experience in music production, including recording, mixing, and using industry-standard software. 

Under the guidance of experienced tutors, students will have opportunities to participate in practical projects, collaborate with their peers, and showcase their talents through live performances. This course will enhance their creativity, technical abilities, and confidence as musicians. 

By the end of the program, graduates will have a good understanding of music performance and production, enabling them to pursue further studies at Level 3 or entry-level positions in the music industry. 

Key information

  • Four GCSEs grade D or above 
  • Audition (learners must be able to play an instrument or sing). 

There are eight units that require passing (no exams). 

The final unit is graded Pass, Merit or Distinction (this will be your grade for the year).     

Most learners progress onto Level 3 Extended Diploma in Music Performance and Production (two-year course) at Llwyn y Bryn.

There is a studio fee of £50 for this course which will cover all resources required for the year.
