Course Overview
This one year course is designed to develop your knowledge and practical skills in music performance and music production. You will study all areas of music including the industry, production analysis and solo/ensemble performances.

Entry Requirements
Four GCSEs at grade D or equivalent qualifications accepted. Subject to interview and audition.
Course Delivery
The course has a practical focus. You will perform solo and in ensembles, work in the recording studio, and begin to develop skills such as song writing, sequencing, and arranging.
Progression Opportunities
Students who successfully complete this course have a very high rate of progression onto the BTEC Diploma / Extended Diploma in Music.
Students may also seek employment in a variety of roles from production assistant to media runners and venue support.
Additional Information
All equipment is provided for ensemble and solo music units. We have two fully equipped recording studios and five fully equipped rehearsal studios, which include drum kits, guitar and bass amplification, as well as, a wide range of electric guitars, bass guitars and acoustic guitars.
Students are provided with all equipment for composition workshops, including professional standard headphones.
A studio fee of £50 will be charged for this course.
