Overview
This introductory qualification is ideal for learners looking to begin their journey in the beauty industry. You will gain essential skills and knowledge in basic skincare, make up, manicure and pedicure treatments, building confidence and understanding of professional salon practice.

Key information
- GCSE Grade D in GCSE Mathematics and English Language or Level 1 Essential Skills Wales Communication and Application of Number
- Applicants whose first language is not English will need to have an ESOL Level 2 qualification
- Applicants must attend an interview and demonstrate a genuine interest in beauty therapy.
You will attend college for 17hrs per week.
Continual practical assessment and written assignments.
Learners are required to purchase a kit and a uniform as part of their course. Costs will be confirmed during the interview (funding may be available).
This qualification is based on the beauty therapy National Occupational Standards (NOS) and is recognised by the UK's leading professional association, the British Association of Beauty Therapy and Cosmetology (BABTAC) as being fit for purpose for preparing you for a career as a beauty therapist. Holders of this qualification are eligible to become a professional member of BABTAC.
