Professional Cookery and Catering Level 1 - Diploma 
Overview
Gain the knowledge and practical skills necessary to achieve an industry recognised qualification in cooking and restaurant service, to begin a career in hospitality and catering. All learners will prepare and serve food to customers in the Vanilla Pod training restaurant.
Key information
- Three GCSEs at grades D or above, to include Maths and/or English
- Applicants will also be considered based on interview and GCSE profiles
- Literacy and numeracy are embedded into the timetable.
Practical assessments will be completed in the Vanilla Pod and commercial kitchens.
Theory units include multiple choice questions, written assignments and short tests.
Units are graded pass / merit / distinction.
Opportunities to progress on to Level 2 Diploma in Professional Cookery and Catering or Level 2 Diploma in Travel and Tourism.
You will be required to buy specialist uniform and equipment (approximately £250).
