West Glamorgan Swimming Gala success
Five students from the Gorseinon Campus of Gower College Swansea recently participated in the Urdd Regional Swimming Gala, which was held at the Dyfed Road Swimming Pool, Neath.
The girls did good!
Second year International students have donated original artwork for greeting cards to raise money for Children in Need.
Maggie and Iris, who both study fine art and textiles and Trista, a photography student, supplied the fabulous images.
Sale of the cards generated almost £100.
International students aiming high
Seven International A Level students have applied to study at either Cambridge or Oxford University in September 2019.
All of these students achieved at least three A grades in their AS exams and have already received offers from world renowned universities such as Imperial College London, UCL and London School of Economics.
GCS students take Gold, Silver and Bronze at WorldSkills!
Gower College Swansea students performed exceptionally well at the recent WorldSkills UK LIVE National Finals at Birmingham’s NEC.
Electronic Engineering student Jamie Skyrme took home a Gold Medal in the Industrial Electronics category after undertaking a challenging set of competition tasks including fault finding, electronic design, programming and prototyping.
College signs educational partnership agreement
International Manager Kieran Keogh has signed an educational partnership agreement with Britlink, a subsidiary of the large Singapore based Dimensions Education Group, to deliver vocational qualifications throughout Malaysia, Myanmar and Vietnam.
Students enjoy ceramics workshop
Fine Art students from Gower College Swansea have enjoyed a clay workshop with Eluned Glyn, a Welsh ceramic designer whose inspiration comes from the classic forms of the 20th and 21st centuries.
The workshop was an opportunity for students to create sculptures by coiling and slabbing clay and creating shapes by molding with slip.

From FE to HE progression - UWTSD PhD student Ashley Pullen is on a path to success
Ashley, aged 26, will graduate next summer with an impressive portfolio of skills and qualifications in a specialist area – Non Destructive Testing (NDT). UWTSD has become a global centre for academic teaching, research and development in the field of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT).
How green is my valley?
International Students got together to take in the great views of the Garw Valley during their half term visit to Bryngarw Country Park.

Over 100 Higher Education students from Gower College Swansea have attended a special graduation event at the Great Hall on Swansea University's Bay Campus.
The students were celebrating achievement in subjects including accountancy, teaching, engineering, childcare, hair and beauty, sport, housing and management.
