Students from the Level 2 VRQ Diploma in Hairdressing were in full competition mode last week at Broadway’s Hair, Beauty, and Holistic Centre.
Second year students had one hour to plan and produce commercial hairstyle, combining a multitude of technical skills learned during their course.
The competition was designed for the students to demonstrate their skills and creativity within ladies hairdressing and for them to gain experience in competition activity.
They were also asked to produce a three minute long video for social media that could be used for future promotions.
Competitors were judged on the planning and combination of styling as well as their finishing techniques, reflecting the current trends.
The whole group performed exceptionally well with the eventual winner named as Skye Griffin (pictured).
Anyone wishing to study a course at Gower College Swansea’s Hair, Beauty, and Holistic Centre can still apply online.
Some courses are specifically offered to those under 19 years of age, and others that will suit students who prefer a work-based programme.
A wide range of part time courses include sports massage, spray tanning, and barbering techniques.
