Speaking about the initiative, Principal of Gower College Swansea Paul Kift said:
"We are delighted to partner with CyberFirst to provide young women with the opportunity to explore STEM subjects in an engaging and practical way. By bringing together education and industry, we can inspire future generations to pursue careers in areas where female representation remains a challenge. The enthusiasm and participation shown by the pupils throughout the day has been everything we hoped for. The future of STEM needs more diverse talent - today has shown that it’s already here, it’s just waiting to be unlocked."
Jo Ralph of CyberFirst is delighted to be working with the College on this event, she said:
"As a CyberFirst Gold College, Gower College Swansea have always supported enrichment opportunities for young people across south Wales. With the imminent advent of TechFirst, it is vitally important that we increase our reach to encompass other areas of STEM. The girls have had an action-packed day and are leaving with more than just an idea of future career paths. They have expanded their horizons and learnt about career opportunities within Wales and, more importantly, possible areas of study they may never have considered."
