Updated 04/09/2018

New students got a chance to find out more about campus life when they attended the Gower College Swansea Freshers’ Fayres at Gorseinon and Tycoch.

“The Freshers’ Fayres are a fantastic opportunity to welcome new students to the college,” says Learner Experience and Wellbeing Manager, Tom Snelgrove. “They can to get to know each other, pick up useful information, join clubs and sports teams and have a go at the many activities on offer. I’m delighted that so many local organisations have again supported us by attending this year’s event. I’m also really pleased that we have on board such amazing musicians and performers for the students to enjoy.”

In addition to live acoustic sets from The Ferns, Sarah Lewis-Meredith, Ilia James and Flynn Forgeau,  students also got the chance to sign up for college clubs and activities including sports academies, enterprise events, Welsh language groups and The Kenya Community Education Project.

Other highlights included a live set from DJ Daley Bee and close up magician Adam Reeves.

Among the attendees were South Wales Police, Barod, EYST, YMCA, NUS, Terrence Higgins Trust, Roots, Travel Line Cymru, Safer Driving Swansea, Young Carers Swansea, Swansea Women’s Aid/CHAT, NHS, Pride Cymru and Careers Wales.
