Gower College Swansea is delighted to announce that the major redevelopment of its Gorseinon Campus has now reached practical completion, with final finishing touches underway ahead of welcoming learners into the transformed facilities this September.
Delivered in partnership with Kier and supported through Welsh Government's Sustainable Communities for Learning Programme, the £20.6 million investment represents one of the most significant developments in the College's recent history.
The redevelopment has transformed the campus, creating a modern, inclusive and sustainable learning environment designed to support future generations of learners.
The development includes brand-new teaching and learning classrooms, state-of-the-art IT classrooms, and a striking enhanced atrium, alongside newly refurbished science laboratories.
Among the many highlights are dedicated learner social and study spaces, and enhanced learner support areas — all designed to be more visible, accessible and welcoming for students.
The project has also delivered significant sustainability benefits, with the new extension designed to achieve net zero carbon in operation through high levels of insulation, energy-efficient electric heating systems and a substantial rooftop solar panel array.

Throughout the project, the College has worked closely with Kier to ensure that teaching and learning continued with minimal disruption while the redevelopment progressed.

As preparations continue over the coming weeks, staff are looking forward to showcasing the completed campus and welcoming both new and returning learners for the start of the 2026/27 academic year.
