Gower College Swansea Highlights Adult Learning and Arts at Swansea’s UNESCO Learning Festival 2025

Gower College Swansea is thrilled to announce its involvement in this year’s Swansea UNESCO Learning Festival on Saturday 14 June. As part of the city’s year-long celebration marking the 10th anniversary of Swansea’s designation as a UNESCO Learning City, the College’s Performing Arts learners and two college bands will be performing live, alongside offering arts tasters and engaging with attendees about the College’s adult learning provision.

The festival promises a vibrant mix of music, dance, and song, with many free sessions designed to inspire families and individuals to explore new creative opportunities. Attendees can look forward to hands-on experiences and lively performances at multiple venues across the city.

On Saturday 14 June, 11am – 3pm, Museum Green, outside the National Waterfront Museum, UNESCO Learning Festival will host a free Family Fun event packed with workshops and performances.

Among the performers on Saturday will be dancers and musicians from Gower College Swansea, alongside groups such as the African Community Centre Youth Band, Future Blood music project youth, the Nigerian Choir, and the Chinese Community Group, who will perform songs in Welsh.

"We’re excited to showcase the incredible talent of our adult learners and performing arts students at this year’s UNESCO Learning Festival. It’s a fantastic opportunity for people of all ages to engage with the arts, try something new, plus discover how lifelong learning can enrich their lives’’

Other Festival Highlights Include:

  • Thursday 12 and Friday 13 June: Swansea’s libraries host The Big Game Day, inviting families to enjoy a variety of games including jigsaws, scrabble, and more.
  • Friday 13 June, 10:00am-2.30pm: Swansea Museum Lifelong Learning offers adults the chance to try sketching in a welcoming creative session.
  • Friday 13 June: Swansea schools will perform at the Quadrant Shopping Centre, alongside information stalls from local organizations such as the Fire Service.
