Gower College Swansea joins Wales Week London 2024

Gower College Swansea is proud to announce its participation in this year’s Wales Week London, the annual showcase of activities and events that celebrate and promote everything that is great about Wales.

In collaboration with esteemed partners The Skills Centre, CITB, The Earls Court Development Company and Felicitas, we are excited to present an exclusive event titled Building a Greener Future: Leading sustainability skills for UK Built Environment.

The event aims to serve as a pivotal platform for industry leaders, experts and stakeholders to exchange insights, best practices and innovative strategies aimed at advancing sustainability initiatives within the built environment sector in the UK.

It will feature a variety of guest speakers, including:

  • Earls Court Development Company (TBC) – Welcome and brief overview of green initiatives on the Earls Court Development
  • Speaker TBC – How traditional construction skills are needed to deliver offshore wind farms in South Wales
  • Jon Howlin, CEO of The Skills Centre – The London insulation problem, the solutions and introduction of The Skills Centre insulation bootcamp programme
  • Paul Rogers, Head of Employer Engagement at Gower College Swansea – Sustainable city skyline through Green Facilities Management apprenticeship programmes
  • Leigh Hughes, Chairman for CITB in Wales – Industry offer to support development of Green Skills in the construction built environment

The event will take place on Monday, 4 March, 2.00pm – 4.00pm at The Earls Court Development Company, Project Rooms 16-18, SW6 1TT.
