“Investing in the skills and development of your workforce is essential to meeting the challenges facing the construction and engineering industries. These sessions are an opportunity for employers to find out more about the qualifications and specialist training available, explore potential funding options and discuss how we can support their specific business needs.
Whether you’re looking to develop existing employees, support new talent or address skills gaps within your team, we want to help you identify the right opportunities to build skills, strengthen your workforce and prepare for the future.”
Explore higher-level qualifications
A key focus of the sessions will be the College’s Higher National Certificate (HNC) and Higher National Diploma (HND) qualifications, designed to help develop the technical knowledge and practical understanding needed across the built environment.
Employers can explore opportunities to support their staff through qualifications that can be accessed through a fully funded apprenticeship or self-funded study, with programmes delivered through a flexible day-release model that enables employees to combine their studies with work.
The qualifications available, which are all Level 4 and two-years in duration, include:
HNC Civil Engineering: Provides a foundation in key civil engineering principles, including measurement, surveying, setting out, structural principles, materials, mathematics, digital construction technologies and civil engineering methods. Learners also develop an understanding of health and safety and the wider construction environment.
HNC Construction Management: Develops knowledge of construction management principles, construction technology, digital applications for construction information, health and safety regulations, tendering and procurement, science and materials, and alternative energy principles. A Level 5 Higher National Diploma (HND) top-up in Construction Management is also available for further progression.
HNC Quantity Surveying: Provides a foundation in measurement, estimating, cost planning, contract administration, procurement, construction technology and the commercial management of construction projects.
Through these qualifications, employers can invest in their teams’ professional development while helping to build the knowledge and capabilities required to support projects, improve performance and meet future workforce needs.
Specialist short courses supporting Celtic Freeport industries
Alongside the higher-level qualifications, employers will also be able to find out more about a range of new specialist short courses designed to support the needs of the Celtic Freeport and its associated industries.
Delivered over just one to four days, the courses offer a more focused training option for businesses looking to develop specific technical skills and knowledge.
Available courses include:
