The College’s senior managers were given a behind-the-scenes look at the new Gorseinon Campus building recently, as the £20.6 million project moves closer to completion.
With the development now nearing its final stages, activity is intensifying on site. Teams are working across the building carrying out internal finishing works including painting, laying flooring and installing doors. Outside, progress is also clearly visible with landscaping works underway to shape the surrounding grounds.
The visit offered the senior leadership team a valuable opportunity to see first-hand how the project is coming together ahead of handover.
The group was shown around the site by Richard Bunn, Project Manager for principal contractor Kier, who provided updates on progress and highlighted key features of the development.
“We were delighted to be given the tour and are looking forward to opening the doors to our staff and students later in the year,” says Chief Executive Officer, Kelly Fountain. “This sneak preview really showcased the scale and quality of the new campus building, which is set to become a major asset for the whole College community once completed.
“The new building will bring real, positive benefits for learners – offering brand new classrooms and enhanced social spaces that will transform the experience of studying at the Gorseinon campus.”
