Success for college swimmer

Gower College Swansea student Niamh Jones, who is studying for her A Levels at the Gorseinon campus, took part in the recent Urdd National Swimming Gala where she received a Bronze medal in the breaststroke event.

Niamh was competing against pupils and students from all over Wales in the 16-19 age category.

“This is the second time students from Aelwyd Coleg Gŵyr have taken part in the competitions so we are extremely proud of Niamh’s success,” says Anna Davies, the College’s Bilingual Champion. “The hope is that we can continue to compete in a variety of the Urdd’s competitions over the year, and build on the success we have had in previous years - with swimming now being added to the list!”
