Advance into Further Education Level 1
Overview
Our Advance into Further Education course is aimed at school leavers who are unsure of the vocational route they wish to take. This is a one year, full time option located at our Tycoch Campus.
You will have the opportunity to try out a range of subjects as part of this course. These may include*
- Being a responsible road user
- Business
- Catering
- Childcare
- Creating a mood board
- Enterprise
- Forensic science
- Health and social care
- Horticulture
- IT/digital media
- Public services
- Salon services
- Sport
- Travel and tourism.

Key information
Ideally you will have achieved four GCSEs at grades D-G.
Depending on your GCSE grades, you may have the opportunity to re-sit GCSEs in Maths, English Language or Science.
Some of the core units will be delivered in the classroom and some of the more practical units will be workshop or kitchen based. When in the kitchen or workshop, students will be expected to wear suitable PPE which the college will supply at a cost of approximately £50.
Level 2 - Advance into FE
You could advance onto another full time course or into employment, with support and guidance from our Better Jobs, Better Futures team
