Key information
No previous experience necessary.
Learners will make a piece of jewellery to demonstrate their knowledge and understanding and their competence in practice.
There is progression throughout the year, however each Silversmithing course can be independent of the others – basic skills will be taught on each course as needed.
The course is delivered through face-to-face sessions in a well-equipped silversmithing studio - all tools are provided.
A range of assessment methods can be used:
- Direct observation of practice
- Oral questioning / professional discussion
- Evaluation of their final piece
- Health and safety will be observed throughout.
