Overview
This one-year course is an introduction to the roles that exist within the IT industry.
Course Objectives:
- Gain a broad understanding of IT and be able to study selected areas in more depth.
- Develop skills, knowledge and understanding of IT.
- Learn how to create web sites, write programs and build computers at an introductory level.
- Develop and create computer games along with your own video editing.
- Follow a programme of study that enables progression to a Level 2 First Diploma in Information and Creative Technology.
- Gain confidence through developing independent learning skills.
Course Outcomes:
- Students will have knowledge on a wide range of aspects of the computing industry
- Students will be able to select from a range of careers including website design, coding and IT technician as well as progressing to a Level 2 First Diploma in Information and Creative Technology.

Entry Requirements
- Four GCSEs at grade E or other relevant Level 1 courses
- An interview.

Combination of external examinations and coursework.
Grading criteria:
Pass, Merit or Distinction.
Progression Opportunities
Students who have successfully completed this course can progress to a Level 2 First Diploma in Information and Creative Technology.
