Course Overview

This full time course is delivered over three days a week delivered in a realistic salon environment.  It is specifically designed to develop practical skills essential for industry requirements.

This is the first stage in becoming a fully qualified beauty therapist, you will learn about health and safety for your work area, your client and yourself.  We will provide you with the skills and information on how to perform traditional and contemporary beauty therapy treatments safely and effectively to the current industry standards.

Entry Requirements

Grade C in GCSE Maths, English Language and preferably Science or equivalent Essential Skills Wales communication and application of number. You will be required to complete an initial assessment in literacy and numeracy and attend an interview.

Course Delivery

You will also develop a number of skills including numeracy, literacy, digital and employability skills throughout the course.

You will be assessed in a variety of ways which will include assignments, external examinations, case studies and continual class assessment

Progression Opportunities

One day additional workshops run by professional beauty companies at a small cost to improve employability and skills.

Level 3 Diploma in Beauty Therapy Treatments or Level 3 Spa Therapies.

Employment opportunities include junior therapist, self employed therapist or retail.

Students will be expected to wear full salon uniform and flat black enclosed shoes. Students will be expected to attend industry related trips at an additional cost of £30 - £50.

The purchase of a kit is essential to study on this course. The approximate cost of kit/uniform (based on 2018 price) is £250 (FCF funding available depending upon personal circumstances).
