Beauty Specialist Techniques (L2 Diploma)

Course Overview

On this one year course you will develop your  practical skills and work on clients in a commercial salon environment. Areas of study include:

  • Client care and communication
  • Health and safety and related theory
  • Manicure treatments
  • Pedicure treatments
  • Make up
  • Eyelash and brow treatments
  • Facial skincare
  • Waxing techniques
  • Tanning.

You will also study literacy, numeracy, digital literacy and employability.

Entry Requirements

Grade C in GCSE Maths, English Language and preferably Science or equivalent Essential Skills Wales communication and application of number. You will be required to complete an initial assessment in literacy and numeracy and attend an interview.

Course Delivery

You will be assessed in a variety of ways which will include assignments, external examinations, case studies and continual class assessment

Progression Opportunities

Beauty Therapy Treatments, or Spa and Body Treatments (Level 3 Diploma) or Hairdressing (Level 2 Diploma).
 
Employment in the industry as a junior therapist in a professional salon or self-employment.

Students will be expected to wear full salon uniform and flat black enclosed shoes. Students will be expected to attend industry related trips at an additional cost of £30 - £50.

The purchase of a kit is essential to study on this course.
