Overview

The following courses are an opportunity to develop photo editing and digital photography skills using the computer suites, studio and lighting equipment at the Llwyn y Bryn campus.

You will be encouraged to consider the subject matter you wish to photograph and the subsequent images you want to create followed by editing and manipulation of those images. You will also consider ways to share those images whether that be through print or digital media. This course will be delivered in the one of the two photography studios at the Llwyn y Bryn campus and you will have access to an Adobe Mac suite to edit your images.

Term 1 will focus on digital photography for beginners

Term 2 will focus on editing digital images with Adobe Photoshop

Term 3 will focus on digital photography for beginners and learners with some photography experience

Key information

No previous experience necessary, just an interest in the subject area. Learners would benefit from attending each term to build skills in preparation for the term two and term three courses, although this is not a barrier to attending each term as a standalone course.

This course is delivered in the art and design studios at the Llwyn y Bryn campus. During the course learners will complete a booklet of outcomes. This is assessed in order to certificate for the qualification.

Progression from any part time course could offer a pathway to full time courses in art and design. For adult learners considering a creative career, the Foundation Diploma in Art and Design course could provide a progression route for this.

All materials are provided.
