College supports White Ribbon campaign

Gower College Swansea has marked White Ribbon Day by launching a brand new domestic abuse policy.

Domestic abuse is a largely hidden crime as it tends to occurs at home and is very often not reported. Yet, on average, two people are killed by their partner or former partner every week in England and Wales* and, again on average, the police in England and Wales receive over 100 calls relating to domestic abuse every hour**

Yn ddiweddar, cynhaliodd Coleg Gŵyr Abertawe ddigwyddiad llewyrchus yn Stadiwm y Liberty er mwyn anrhydeddu aelodau o staff sydd â dros 20 mlynedd o wasanaeth.

“Dyma’r ail flwyddyn yn olynol i ni gynnal digwyddiad Gwobrau Gwasanaethau Hirdymor. Mae’n bwysig ein bod yn cydnabod ymrwymiad a theyrngarwch cynifer o aelodau’n staff,” meddai Cyfarwyddwr yr Adnoddau Dynol, Sarah King. “Roedd hefyd yn gyfle perffaith i arddangos côr newydd staff y Coleg am y tro cyntaf , a braf yw dweud eu bod wedi creu cryn argraff drwy berfformio mor arbennig.”

Staff recognised at Long Service Awards

Gower College Swansea recently held a special celebratory event at the Liberty Stadium to honour members of staff with more than 20 years’ service.

“This is the second consecutive year that we have held these Long Service Awards as we feel it is very important to recognise the dedication and loyalty of so many of our members of staff,” says Director of HR Sarah King. “It was also a perfect opportunity to showcase the College’s brand new staff choir who made their debut at the event and who gave a fantastic performance.”

Coleg yn cefnogi ymgyrch y Rhuban Gwyn

Fel gweithred o gefnogaeth tuag at ymgyrch y Rhuban Gwyn, mae Coleg Gŵyr Abertawe wedi lansio polisi newydd sbon sy’n ymwneud â cham-drin domestig.

Mae Cam-drin Domestig yn drosedd sy’n gallu bod yn gudd ac yn rhywbeth nad yw’n cael ei adrodd i’r Heddlu yn aml, gan ei fod yn digwydd o fewn y cartref. Ar gyfartaledd, mae dau o bobl yn cael eu lladd yng Nghymru a Lloegr* yn wythnosol gan bartneriaid neu cyn partneriaid. Mae’r heddlu Yng Nghymru a Lloegr yn derbyn rhyw 100 o alwadau'r awr ar gyfartaledd am faterion sy’n ymwneud â Cham-drin Domestig.**

Hormonau ‘hapus’ wedi eu hesbonio

Cafodd staff Coleg Gŵyr Abertawe wahoddiad yn ddiweddar i fynychu seminar ddiddorol ar sut i reoli’r menopos yn y gweithle.

Cafodd y sgwrs awr o hyd ei gynnal gan Nicki Williams yr arbenigwr maeth, awdur a sefydlydd Happy Hormones For Life.

Ar ôl methu â dod o hyd i gymorth meddygol ar faterion ei hun yn ei 40’au cynnar, rhannodd Nicki ei stori wrth i adrodd sut y defnyddiodd ddatrysiadau naturiol er mwyn gwyrdroi’r sefyllfa.

‘Happy’ hormones explained

Staff at Gower College Swansea were recently invited to a special seminar on managing the menopause in the workplace.

The hour-long talk was hosted by the award-winning nutritionist, author and Happy Hormones For Life founder Nicki Williams.

After failing to find medical help for her own issues in her early 40’s, Nicki shared her own experiences of how she turned things around using natural solutions.

Mae system adnoddau dynol arloesol sydd wedi arbed amser ac arian i Goleg Gŵyr Abertawe wedi ennill gwobr genedlaethol nodedig gan HR Magazine.

Yn ddiweddar enillodd y system ‘All About Me/All About My Staff’ wobr am y Defnydd Mwyaf Arloesol o Dechnoleg Adnoddau Dynol yn seremoni Gwobrau Rhagoriaeth Adnoddau Dynol 2015 yn Llundain, gan guro cystadleuaeth gref gan gwmnïau mawr cenedlaethol a rhynglwadol fel Santander, Monster a Chymdeithas Adeiladu Nationwide.

Innovative HR system scoops national award for college

An innovative human resources system that has saved both time and money has seen Gower College Swansea scoop a prestigious national award from HR Magazine.

The ‘All About Me/All About My Staff’ system was recently named the Most Innovative Deployment of HR Technology at the HR Excellence Awards 2015 in London, beating stiff competition from national and international giants such as Santander, Monster and Nationwide Building Society.
