Cyn-fyfyriwr yn ennill teitl Dysgwr VQ Lefel Ganolradd y Flwyddyn 2019

Mae cyn-fyfyriwr Coleg Gŵyr Abertawe Collette Gorvett wedi cael ei henwi yn Ddysgwr Lefel Ganolradd y Flwyddyn yng Ngowbrau VQ 2019.

Roedd Collette, sydd bellach yn gweithio yn The Ritz yn Llundain, wedi ymuno â Choleg Gŵyr Abertawe yn 2015 i astudio Diploma Lefel 1 mewn Coginio Proffesiynol cyn symud ymlaen i’r Diploma Lefel 3 mewn Coginio Proffesiynol Uwch, Cegin a Bwtri.

Former student named VQ Intermediate Learner of the Year 2019

Former Gower College Swansea student Collette Gorvett has been named Intermediate Learner of the Year at the VQ Awards 2019.

Collette, who now works at The Ritz in London, joined Gower College Swansea in 2015 to study the Level 1 Diploma in Professional Cookery before progressing through to Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Professional Cookery, Kitchen and Larder.

Mae Coleg Gŵyr Abertawe wedi cyrraedd y rhestr fer yng Ngwobrau Di-bapur y Sector Cyhoeddus 2019…

Mae’r tîm Technoleg Gwybodaeth a Dysgu, sy’n cefnogi’r defnydd o dechnolegau ac arloesi digidol ar draws y Coleg, wedi cyrraedd y rownd derfynol yn y categori Cymhwysiad / Prosiect Digidol Gorau ar Raddfa Fach am ddatblygu e-lofnodion ar gyfer cytundebau tocynnau bws a chyllid myfyrwyr.

“Diben y prosiect oedd creu ateb pwrpasol mewnol ar gyfer integreiddio llofnodion electronig ym mhrosesau a gweithdrefnau’r Coleg,” dywedodd yr Arweinydd Tîm TGD Kate Pearce.

College in the running for Paperless award

Gower College Swansea has been shortlisted in the 2019 Public Sector Paperless Awards.

The Information Learning Technology team, which supports the use of digital technologies and innovations throughout the College, has been named as a finalist in the Best Small Scale Digital Application / Project category for their development of e-signatures for student funding and bus pass agreements.

Coleg Gŵyr Abertawe yn cipio tair gwobr AD

Enillodd Coleg Gŵr Abertawe dair gwobr yng Ngwobrau AD Cymru 2018 mewn seremoni tei du ddisglair yng Ngwesty’r Gyfnewidfa, Caerdydd ar ddydd Gwener 22 Mawrth.

Y seremoni wobrwyo – sy’n cydnabod ac yn dathlu llwyddiannau gweithwyr proffesiynol a chyflogwyr AD ledled Cymru – yw prif ddigwyddiad Rhwydwaith AD Cymru, grŵp arweiniol proffesiynol sy’n rhwydweithio ac yn rhannu barn wedi’i greu a’i redeg gan y cwmni cyfreithiol masnachol a leolir yng Nghaerdydd Darwin Gray and Acorn, arbenigwyr recriwtio arweiniol Cymru. 

Gower College Swansea scoop three HR Awards

Gower College Swansea scooped three awards in the Wales HR Awards 2018 in a glittering black-tie ceremony in Cardiff’s Exchange Hotel on Friday 22 March.

The awards ceremony – which recognises and celebrates the achievements of HR professionals and employers across Wales – is the flagship event of the Wales HR Network, a leading professional thought sharing and networking group created and run by Cardiff-based commercial law firm Darwin Gray and Acorn, Wales’ leading recruitment specialist.

Mae Sally Hughes yn edrych ymlaen at yrfa ddifyr gyda Tata Steel ym Mhort Talbot ac yn gobeithio ysbrydoli merched eraill i ddilyn gyrfa wyddonol.

Sally oedd yr unig ferch mewn grŵp o brentisiaid technegol a gychwynnodd gyda’r cwmni ym Mhort Talbot ym mis Medi 2016 a dywed na fu’n hawdd llwyddo mewn amgylchedd mor wrywaidd.

Fodd bynnag, mae’r ferch ifanc 19 oed o Bort Talbot yn benderfynol o gyflawni ei photensial trwy fanteisio ar bob cyfle a gaiff.

Shortlisted Sally is a science career role model at Tata Steel

Sally Hughes is on course for a rewarding career with Tata Steel in Port Talbot and hopes to inspire other young women to follow a science career pathway.

The only female in a group of technical apprentices recruited by the company in Port Talbot in September, 2016, she says it has not been easy to be successful within a male dominated environment.

However, the 19-year-old from Port Talbot is determined to reach her full potential by embracing all opportunities available to her.
