Updated message to our students - May

It’s been three weeks since I last updated you on the progress the College is making on the range of challenges we are currently facing.

I would again wish to thank all of you for your continued engagement with your studies. Whilst staff are continuing to both teach and provide tutorial and pastoral support online, the response from you has been excellent and clearly will help prepare you for your next step, whatever that may be.

Negeseuon wedi'u diweddaru i'n myfyrwyr a rhieni/gwarcheidwaid

Neges i fyfyrwyr

Mae’n bythefnos ers i mi ysgrifennu atoch chi ddiwethaf ac roeddwn i’n meddwl y byddai’n ddefnyddiol rhoi’r diweddaraf i chi nid yn unig ar sut mae’r Coleg yn parhau i weithredu, ond hefyd i roi fy nghyngor gorau i chi yn ystod y cyfnod heriol hwn. Ond cyn i mi wneud hynny, hoffwn ddechrau trwy ddiolch i chi.

Updated messages to our students and parents/guardians

A message to students

It’s been a couple of weeks since I last wrote to you and I thought it would be useful to update you not only on how the College is continuing to operate, but also to give you my best advice during these challenging times. But before I do that, I just wanted to begin by thanking you.

Only two weeks ago we moved across to a blended method of teaching and learning using a combination of digital tutorials with a variety of assessments, as well as providing additional pastoral support.

Lansio ymgyrch DYMA FI i herio stereoteipio ar sail rhywedd ac atal camdriniaeth

Heddiw lansiwyd ymgyrch newydd gan Lywodraeth Cymru i fynd i'r afael â rhai o'r rhesymau y tu ôl i drais yn erbyn menywod, cam-drin domestig a thrais rhywiol.

Mae'r hysbysebion teledu, radio ac ar-lein yn dangos pobl mewn sefyllfaoedd sy'n herio ein syniadau am rywedd. Er enghraifft, dyn yn gweithio fel bydwraig, menyw'n gweithio fel peiriannydd, dyn ifanc yn rhoi colur ymlaen yn gelfydd a merch fach yn chwarae gyda thryc, a mwd drosti.

Caiff pobl ei hannog i fod yn rhan o'r ymgyrch drwy siarad am eu profiadau a'u cysyniadau o stereoteipio drwy ddefnyddio #dymafi.

THIS IS ME campaign launched to challenge gender stereotypes and prevent abuse

A new Welsh Government multi-media campaign has been launched today to tackle some of the underlying reasons for violence against women, domestic abuse and sexual violence.

The TV, radio and online adverts show people in situations challenging our ideas about gender. A man working as a midwife, a woman working as a mechanic, a young man expertly applying make-up and a girl playing with a truck, covered in mud.

People are being encouraged to engage in the online campaign to talk about their experiences and concepts of stereotypes using #thisisme.
