Course Overview
This one year course offers the knowledge and practical skills necessary to achieve an industry recognised qualification and a career in food preparation and cooking. You will undertake practical sessions to develop your customer service and food service skills in the Vanilla Pod, our training restaurant. You will also undertake written assignments.
You will also study Maths, English, digital literacy and employability through our skills for catering programme, as well as complete a food service qualification.
Elements of this course can be delivered through the medium of Welsh.

Entry Requirements
Three GCSEs at grades E and above. Applicants will also be considered based on interview and a satisfactory skills scan.
Course Delivery
The course is assessed by written assignments, short answer tests, an online test, practical assessments and practical synoptic tests.
Progression Opportunities
Level 2 Diploma in Professional Cookery (application and interview required).
The Level 1 Diploma is valued by employers and there are employment opportunities in general hospitality, food preparation and cooking.
