FE colleges join forces with CITB to improve provision and support across construction sector

This year, ColegauCymru, on behalf of their member colleges, signed an agreement with Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) in a move to support the provision of construction qualifications and support for learners, apprentices and employers across Wales.

This comes as the industry continues to demand talent, qualifications and skills that are fit for purpose, future proofed and that will support the Welsh economy in the long term. The Agreement will strengthen the relationship between FE colleges and the construction industry in Wales.

Electrical / mechanical firm welcomes students to site

Students from Gower College Swansea were treated to a recent site visit to Swansea University Bay Campus’ residential development thanks to Swansea-based RDM Electrical and Mechanical Services, who are helping the students to plan their futures for a career in the electrical and mechanical services industry.

The Level 2 Construction students were welcomed by RDM and viewed the works the company is completing for VINCI Construction UK, based around the mechanical and electrical works at the residential development phase 1C site.
